Mehmet Doğaner / Mersin, Aug 6 () - In southeastern Mersin province, the peach harvest sparked the Erdemli district’s people. While a kilogram was sold by 1.5 liras, the peaches were already put on the market, picked in the Üzümlü neighbourhood of an altitude of 600 meters.

President of Erdemli Chamber of Agriculture, Ahmet Öğer said that in the 135,000-hectare territory, 60 to 70 thousand ton peaches are produced. “Our cultivators are happy with the existing prices. Out of season peaches cannot be exported and merely covering the interior market. Hopefully, these prices remain still so the producers can be cheered.”
