Istanbul, Feb 16 () – The lira was negatively affected amid the increasing Syrian tension over bombardment near the Turkey border, despite the rising risk appetite showed in data demonstrating an upsurge of new credits in China, as well as the strengthening of monetary units of countries.

The lira opened the day above 2.95 liras over geopolitical risks in the region. The lira that has closed the previous week around 2.91 liras, yesterday moved between 2.93 and 2.94 liras, then hit 2.9516 liras today in early trade.

Euro reached 3.2991 liras, in parallel with the dollar's rise, in relation to the euro/dolar parity.
