Siyamend Kaçmaz / Moscow, Dec 3 () - Negotiations on Turkish Stream gas pipeline have been suspended, announced Russian Energy Minister Aleksandr Novak, over the downing of Russian Su-24 in Syria.

The project has been on the agenda within the framework of the Russian-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which was also hold.

The project that has been hold is awaiting instructions from the Russian government, said Novak.

One of the major projects for Russia and Turkey aimed at delivering natural gas from Russia to Turkey through the Black Sea, then to Southern Europe.

The start of construction was scheduled for June but has been delayed as Moscow and Ankara failed to reach an intergovernmental agreement.

Sanctions of Russia over the crisis are expected to affect Turkish Stream as well as the Akkuyu nuclear power station projects.
