Hasaka, Dec 31 () - Twin bombings near Turkey- Syria border killed 16 people and left 35 others wounded, in northeastern city of Qamishli, on Dec. 30.

According to SANA news agency, the bombings erupted inside Miami and Gabriel restaurants, as two suicide bombers with the Islamic State (IS) detonated themselves in the city center of Qamishli, in northeastern governorate of Hasaka.

The restaurants were severely damaged said the reports.

Minister of Information Omran al-Zoubi urged people “to be careful, precise and enhance facing terrorists” in an interview with the Syrian TV, describing the explosions “dirty and spiteful”. Meanwhile, the Cabinet condemned the twin bomb attacks at Qamishli, on Dec. 31.

Meanwhile, in Damascus two civilians were killed and two others were injured after rocket and mortar attacks by “Islam Army” militants, near Harasta Suburb where 8 shells were fired.

Earlier in December, IS has targeted other Kurdish areas in Hasaka and killed at least 20 people.

IS is known to control Shadadi city and its villages south of Hasaka as well as countryside of the province.
