Serpil Kırkeser / Istanbul, Oct 23 () - Turkish court concluded the case of Gezi events with 255 defendants, including two doctors and protesters who have sheltered injured in the Bezm-i Alem Mosque.

The court sentenced 244 defendants to jail, with prison terms ranging from 2 months 15 days to 1 year 2 months 16 days, accused for different offenses.

Seven defendants that have been acquitted for different accusations, while files of four others without arrest, Murat Akıllı, Murat Gülbay, Onur Yener and Emre Güleryüz, were put aside, as their statements have not been taken.

Doctors accused for “harming house of worship”

The court, having sentenced four doctors to 10 months of prison, accused of “harming house of warship”, who were curing the people suffered from the tear gas used by the riot police forces, suspended the penalty.

On the other hand, the court refused to suspend the penalty of three other defendants, having been sentenced to jail for 2 months 15 days, accused of “Unlawful use of special signs and clothes”.
