Günseli Kenarlı - Güven Usta / Istanbul, March 4 () - A campaign by Dogan Holding to end domestic violence, "No! to Domestic Violence", encouraged a cooperation among pharmacists across Turkey, to raise awareness against violence for March 8 International Working Women's Day.

Pharmacists will distribute flyers and hang posters within a campaign named "Violence is a crime, ask for help" to be held by 14 thousand pharmacies across the country. Pharmacists will also give information to clients who have been subjected to violence, for the campaign launched by the Association of All Pharmacists Cooperatives (TEKB).

Pharmacies are places where residents can "freely express their feelings and opinions", said TEKB Chairman Mustafa Turunç, adding that they are also considered "confidants, opinion leaders and psychologists" by inhabitants of neighborhoods.

"We have thought that considering pharmacists' social role, we have a capacity to raise social awareness against violence and violence against women in particular, which are bleeding wounds of the society" he said, announcing the campaign to last for one month.

Flyers explaining domestic violence and guiding sufferers towards centers to ask for help will be distributed in pharmacies, Turunç explained.

The campaign organizers also thanked daily Hürriyet Chairwoman Vuslat Doğan Sabancı and managers of the newspaper, for the campaign who inspired pharmacists efforts. Daily Hürriyet accepted to cooperate with pharmacists' major social campaign.

The anti-domestic violence campaign targets to reach three million people in one month from March 8.
