Ankara - Istanbul, Nov 12 () - The more than 100 victims of the twin Ankara blasts have been commemorated in Istanbul and Ankara one month after the deadly attack.
Members from both the Confederation of Public Sector Trades’ Unions (KESK) and the Halkevleri, community centers fighting for the protection of rights to free health and education services, commemorated the 102 victims of the Ankara blasts on Nov. 10 by placing carnations at the Ankara Train Station, outside of which the twin blasts occurred a month earlier on Oct. 10.
Gathering outside the train station in the Turkish capital, the group also held a press conference after laying the carnations to commemorate the one-month anniversary of the bombing.
A group of nearly 300 people, meanwhile, gathered outside a high school in Istanbul’s Beyoğlu district at around 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 10 to commemorate the victims of the Ankara blasts.
The group held a sit-in outside the Galatasaray High School and chanted slogans while waving pictures of the victims.
After holding a minute of silence, the group held a press conference.
“Our friends were killed 30 days ago,” the group’s spokesperson said.
