Burak Gezen / Çanakkale, Oct 28 () - The world renowned historical Troy National Park will be renewed within the recently approved Development Revision Plan, for the site located in Aegean province of Çanakkale.

The site was declared “national park” in 1996, and has been one of the nine UNESCO world heritage sites since 1998.

Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs have boosted investments to turn the national park into an attraction point and offer the natural richness of the site to the public.

New plan boosts eco-tourism

The renewal plans include protection works, by dividing the park for different uses. Also, new arrangement will be carried out for the agricultural areas, and the production will be shifted to organic farming.

Moreover, daily areas of use will be constructed to attrack more visitors, and organize new cultural events to introduce the ancient site within the national park.

Employment to increase

Eco-tourism trainings will be offered to inhabitants, students, and administrators. Market researches will be boosted regarding the values and traditional products of the area, while certain topics on eco-tourism will be specified.

The inhabitants will also be offered employment, as vacancies will be opened particularly in service sector, in cafes and restaurants, along with accommodation facilities, construction and cleaning.
