Latif Sansür / Aydın, Sep 28 () – The Oceanic Dream Peace Boat, known as the largest peace boat of the world, has arrived to Turkey tourists resort town Kuşadası coasts in Aegean province of Aydın, on early Sep. 28.

The Japan-based Oceanic Dream Peace Boat, named after the global non-government organization established to promote awareness and building connections among communities that work for peace, human rights, environmental protection and sustainable development.

"Emergent need for peace"

Around 900 passengers flocked to market places, wandered in streets for shopping, hanged out in cafes and restaurants in the lively town, after the Kuşadası Municipality authorities welcomed the group.

The meeting between Kuşadası Municipality representatives Tufan Asrav and Canan İnanç along with International Coordinator of the Peace Boat organization, Omura Yuko, addressed the emergent need for peace across the world. Accordingly, representatives exchanged ideas for potential cooperative projects with the Peace Boat.

The Peace Boat's story

Peace Boat had been founded in Japan in 1983, as a response to the attacks over Asia-Pacific and censure implementations across the region. The boat has cruised off Japanese coasts to encourage human rights, environmental protection and sustainable development. Since then, the Peace Boat has been organizing tours within various campaigns.
