Hüseyin Tüccar / Bursa, Aug 4 () – In Northwestern province of Bursa, a bomb suspicion almost killed a box of kittens, amid security tension across Turkey.

People found a box that was left to a playground near a primary school, and called the police over bomb suspicion. However after finding a note reading “Don’t throw away the box; there are four kittens inside” they also informed Filiz Ayhan, member of Turkey Animal Protection Association. Ayhan brought the kittens to the animal shelter of the Nilüfer district municipality.

While three kittens survived, one of them was feared to has smuthered in the box, despite all efforts of veterinary surgeons. The ones who have survived were placed next to a mother cat who had recently gave birth to two kittens.

Ayhan from Animal Protection Association warned that amid these tense days where parcel bombs are left frequently, stray animals should not be abandoned in boxes because they can die after blasting of police, if they are confused with bombs. Ayhan called on people to inform municipalities in these cases to protect animals.
