Özgür Eren / Istanbul, Sep 4 () – Turkey’s rights organizations Humanitarian Relief Foundation (İHH) and International Refugee Rights Association held a demonstration in Istanbul’s central Taksim district, after the two deadly migrant boat disasters left 12 people drown off Aegean resort town Bodrum.

Within the protest at Galatasaray Square, the tragedy of Syrian migrants were urged, while some of the banners read “humanity washed ashore” slamming the brutal death of toddlers showed in images where lifeless little bodies washed ashore.

Meanwhile, some of the protesters chalked circles of one m2 on the ground, and wrote “We couldn’t spare one square meter to give refugees!”, to raise concern about the “refugee crisis”.
